We live in a fast paced, quick fix, instant gratification type of world these days. Whether this is good or bad is in the eye of the beholder. It is circumstantial for sure. In some areas of life this expectation or “demand” has certainly enabled some neat and exciting things to happen within amazing time frames.
In the weight loss world, however, this quick fix mentality can really prove to be a challenge … a hurdle … a detour … and ultimately a complete roadblock. When it comes to weight loss (and overall wellness) it is truly necessary to keep a healthy and realistic perspective on progress.
Collins English Dictionary defines “PROGRESS” this way:
Progress is the process of gradually improving or getting nearer to achieving or completing something.
Notice the KEY WORDS? The fact is almost every word in that definition is meaningful and important when an individual is working on weight loss. Consider these:
